Pakistan cricket coach Mohsin Naqvi met the players of the national team at the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul and discussed future plans with the Pakistan national team.
There have been many controversies lately, the biggest of which has been the captaincy of the White Gloves national team. Babar Azam, the former captain, was reinstated as the white-ball captain for Shaheen, enabling him to host the T20 World Cup in 2024. Shaheen’s captaincy came to an abrupt end after the series loss.
Things went wrong when the PCB issued a notice in Shaheen’s name, about which he had no knowledge, and to remedy this, Mohsin Naqvi went to Kakul to sort out the issues.
Naqvi had an interesting conversation with Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was removed from the captaincy in a controversial manner as the chairman insisted that all issues had been resolved. Naqvi said that the PKB employees were responsible for the accident.
On the other hand, the left-arm fast bowler said that he does not want the situation to escalate and all issues will be resolved. He went on to say that the team should play as a unit and his heart should be pure after becoming wise.
In his address to the players, Naqvi said that now decisions will be taken on merit and there is no need to dictate. Navi called each player the pride of the country, emphasizing hard work in training and preparation in camp.
The decision to appoint Babar Azam as the team captain was taken on the recommendation of the selection committee.
According to Naqvi, the contracts with foreign coaches have been finalized and an official announcement will be made in the coming days.
