In the recommendation, the country’s highest court said that anyone who sees the moon is advised to report it to the nearest court.

Muslims in Saudi Arabia have been urged to observe the new moon on the 29th of Ramadan, which corresponds to Monday, April 8, 2024 in the Gregorian calendar.

In an opinion, the country’s Supreme Court said that all those who could see the moon – with the naked eye or through a telescope – were asked to report to the nearest court and record their evidence. They can also contact the nearest center.

The Saudi Press Agency said in a statement that the Supreme Court expects those who have the opportunity to investigate the matter to join the committees in the field and calculate the reward for their participation.

The UAE Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Monday evening, April 8, to scan the night sky. If you notice, Ramadan ends in 29 days, Eid al-Fitr falls on Tuesday, April 9. Otherwise, the holy month is 30 days, and the Islamic holiday falls on April 10.
