Several Students were caught cheating during the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part 1 annual examinations in Lahore.
Punjab School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the students were detained during the minister’s surprise visit to an examination center in Lahore’s Sundar area.
Furthermore, several individuals were arrested for trying to take exams on behalf of others. The minister alleged that the examination center and school staff were involved in cheating during the examination.
The minister warned that no one should play with the future of the students. The spokesman said five officials allegedly involved in facilitating the fraud have been arrested.
Earlier this week, the Provincial Government warned Private schools in Lahore not to ask parents for extra money beyond the monthly fees.
In addition, schools were advised against forcing parents to buy uniforms and books only from certain stores.
