The Federal Directorate Of Education (FDE) has come under criticism for its inconsistent and puzzling spring vacation schedule for Islamabad’s Educational Institutes.
On Wednesday, The FDE announce the spring break shall be observed all the educational institutions under its control from 08-4-2024 to 12-4-2024. Furthermore, The Directorate added that the new academic session shall commence from 15 April.
However, the FDE announcement has attracted criticism from the teaching profession for not taking professional requirements into account. They expressed their concern regarding the overlap of this spring holiday with the Eidul Fitr holiday, which is expected to coincide with the same date.
According to teachers, the purpose of spring break is to give teachers and students a well-deserved break after the March 31 academic session. A female teacher told National Daily that she needed a break after busy classes to recharge and prepare for the new academic session

She added that FDE leaders appear to be unaware of the Educational needs of the institutions. She also urged the Federal Government to appoint a permanent Director-General.
It is important to mention that earlier, FDE announced that the spring break will be celebrated from April 1st to 7th, 2024. Now, the sudden change in the schedule has drawn strong criticism from concerned parties.
