The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed, has issued instructions for the repayment of student loans of all public schools. A total of Dh155 million in arrears will be cleared as part of the initiative, which aims to support youth education, state news agency Wam reported.
The initiative, implemented in partnership with the Emirates School Foundation, will benefit students living in the country who are enrolled in government schools. According to the report, this will include all outstanding loans for the 2023-2024 school year.
